Bobby H. Griffin, a native of Union County, graduated from Pfeiffer College and taught in the Winston-Salem Public Schools before attending law school. He graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law and was licensed to practice law in North Carolina in 1967. Mr. Griffin was elected to the Monroe Board of Education in 1977 and served as the Board’s Chairman from 1981 to 1989. He is a former member of the North Carolina General Assembly, a current trustee of Pfeiffer University, and former chairman of the Union County Board of Elections.
Joe P. McCollum, Jr., a native of Union County, graduated from Wake Forest University and from the Wake Forest University School of Law. He was licensed to practice law in 1967. Mr. McCollum served as Assistant District Attorney from 1971 to 1972. In 1985, he was President of the 20th District Bar Association comprised of lawyers in Union, Anson, Stanly, Richmond, and Moore counties. He is a certified District Court Arbitrator.
